Jaime and Tim

Can an engagement session go from romantic, to casual and fun all in the same location? It can and I think this session is a great example of that. Jaime and Tim arrived at the Black Shed dressed in semi-formal attire, black dress for Jaime and black tie, black pants and white shirt for Tim. Jaime and Tim knew that they wanted a unique spot that they could bring their 1 year old pup along, wear something dressy and then change into a casual look and maybe sip a cocktail or two. They planned the session and contacted the owners for a permit to photograph in their location. I knew nothing about the Black Shed but I don't live very far from it. When I arrived I was immediately amazed and inspired and frankly, I didn't want to leave. Every inch of the Black Shed is meticulously designed, from the store to the speakeasy and the gardenscape that surrounds the large black barn-like building. We roamed the property looking for inspiration and the best light. Then Jaime and Tim headed into the speakeasy to order their cocktails. The golden light came through the windows behind them as they sipped and laughed. I love the way the light looks behind Jaime in those images, so warm and inviting. The pup joined for a few in his bowtie. They changed into their casual outfits and we headed for the vintage trailer and antique settee. At one point, I accidentally, posed Jaime and Tim facing a sprinkler. I had no idea it was there ;) As we headed to our cars, we saw the golden twinkling lights and created a few more artsy and fun images. This session was a blast! I can't wait to work with Jaime and Tim again on their wedding day.
