My daughter and I decided to throw a costume party for her friends and their parents. We put our heads together, made our lists and drew pictures of what we wanted our party to look like! We decided to have a Wrap the Mummy Race and to project The Great Pumpkin in the backyard. Believe it or not, the kids actually sat for most of the movie. It is a Halloween classic that is short and sweet. They requested MORE green popcorn! (I mixed a drop of green food coloring into the butter...shhhh)
I decided to make mini treats so the kids wouldn't overload too quickly on sugar. They did anyway. I tried. Ha! Josey and I made mini cupcakes, mini jello cups complete with mini spoons. We also served black bean dip, flatbread pizzas, deviled eggs, mummies in a blanket, caprese skewers and Pumpkin Chili in the crockpot. The guests loved the chocolate cake and the Apple PEYE. ;)
The costumes were great. The party was a blast. Josey was thrilled. We are going to make it our yearly tradition!
