Love an engagement shoot at Longwood Gardens. It is such a relaxing environment with endless options for beautiful backdrops and hideaways. Beth and Sean decided on a late Sept. shoot just before closing. It was quiet. I think we saw more cats than people (Yes, Longwood has resident cats.) We had the whole place to ourselves and not much of a plan other than to seek out bright blooms, treehouses and the cafe lights at the beer garden. I love the warmth of these images. They make me excited for spring!!
Kevin called me one week prior to his wedding and asked if I was free to photograph the day at the Water Works by Cescaphe in Philadelphia. He explained that he was used to putting together massive parties on short notice and now it was time to use that experience to plan his wedding in 3 weeks. Sara and Kevin decided that they wanted the day to be fun and carefree. And It was. The images from the day are mostly candid and that is what I really love about them. What you see if what was happening on that day. Real moments, no rushing or worrying. Just love and fun and family. Exactly what a wedding day should be. :)
Amalya and Oliver were married on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at The Old Mill in Rose Valley, Pa. The couple opted for a semiprivate first look on the grounds of The Old Mill. The excitement was radiating from the bride and groom as they held hands under a brick archway, eyes closed, anticipating the moment they would see one another for the first time on their wedding day. Friends and family witnessed the pure happiness of the moment and the moments that followed.
The Old Mill offered many desirable backdrops, from a small bamboo forest, to brick and stone archways, a quaint courtyard or a beautiful sequoia tree in the woods. After the first look, we gathered in the woods to take photos of the bridal party. Amalya's lace bridal gown and the amethyst bridesmaid dresses were complimented by the bouquets and the green of the surrounding landscape.
Once we were finished with the photos, the indoor ceremony space started to fill with friends and family that traveled from near and far, all with one objective, to celebrate the true love that Amalya and Oliver share.
Conner Catering provided a delicious family style meal that was followed by cake cutting and lots of dancing!!!
We feel fortunate to capture such a special wedding day. We wish this playful and genuine pair, a life of happiness, love and friendship. Thank you to the Elbert and Henderson families for allowing us to share in this wedding day!
